Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg, is visiting Morpeth this Thursday as part of a day focusing on the North East.
Nick is being shown around Morpeth Cottage Hospital in the afternoon and hearing about the importance of local NHS services and the plans for relocation to new premises.
From 5pm, Morpeth Town Hall is playing host to an open public meeting with Nick Clegg. Nick, as the only major party leader to represent a northern constituency, is holding a public meeting in Morpeth Town Hall to answer questions from the public on the issues that matter to people in the North East.
Alan Beith, Liberal Democrat MP for Berwick-Upon-Tweed, emphasised the opportunity the event gave local people to have their say.
"Nick is hosting a series of these question and answer-style meetings up and down the country and I'm delighted that he is coming to the North East. It really does give local people the chance to quiz a major player in UK politics on the issues that matter to them. The Liberal Democrats have a well-deserved reputation for listening to local people."
