Alan Beith will be questioning the Prime Minister in the Liaison Committee session on 16 July 2009.
The Liberal Democrat MP for Berwick upon Tweed, Sir Alan Beith, will question the Prime Minister at the next session of the Liaison Committee on 16 July. This session will be the latest of the regular twice yearly sessions the Committee holds with the Prime Minister on a range of domestic and international issues. Notice of the questions is not given to the Prime Minister.
Alan Beith said
"These sessions much more productive that the shouting match of Prime Minister's Questions and go into much more detail. I will be leading the questioning on constitutional issues."
The Liaison Committee is made up of the Chairmen of the House of Commons Select Committees. Sir Alan Beith MP chairs the Justice Committee, which scrutinises the work of the Justice Department and other legal offices including the Crown Prosecution Service and the Serious Fraud Office.
