Pensioners in rural areas are the most hard hit by fuel bills, Sir Alan Beith told MPs last week.
"Lack of gas means they cannot get dual-fuel tariffs, many live in privately rented properties which means they are refused help to install more efficient heating systems, and many are in stone-built properties which cannot have cavity wall insulation.,"
said the Liberal Democrat MP.
Regional Minister Nick Brown promised a meeting with Sir Alan to look at ways of targeting help with fuel poverty to pensioners in rural areas.
