Beith to hold extra surgery in Amble following loss of jobs at Northumberland Foods

August 31, 2010 12:00 AM

Berwick's Liberal Democrat MP Sir Alan Beith is holding a special surgery tomorrow (Wednesday 1 September 2010) at Trinity Methodist Church in Amble, following the loss of nearly 250 jobs at the town's Northumberland Foods factory recently.

Sir Alan said

"I'm visiting the villages and hamlets throughout the constituency as part of my annual surgery tour and will be touring around the part of the constituency to the south of Amble tomorrow.

"But I've made arrangements for an extra surgery in Amble from 5.15pm tomorrow, as I want to make sure I am available to people who have been affected by the closure of Northumberland Foods.

"Anyone who has a problem and would like my help, or who wants to discuss an issue or concern, is welcome to come along."

If you are a resident of the Berwick-upon-Tweed constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
